Specialist Packaging for Fish and Seafood
CoCopac supplies specialist food-contact packaging for fish and seafood processors, packers and packaging distributors. Our products are used across fresh fillets, shellfish, smoked products, prepared seafood and chilled retail packs.
We convert materials around the food product, tray dimensions, expected moisture levels and packing process. Whether you have an established specification or are developing a new pack, our team can help identify an appropriate material, absorbency and format.
Packaging developed around fish and seafood
Fish and seafood packaging often needs to manage relatively high levels of moisture and condensation while maintaining a clean, unobtrusive presentation. The correct solution will depend on the species, product format, chilled process, tray design and route through packing, storage and retail.
Specialist knowledge
Our team considers fluid levels, temperature, presentation, handling and whether the packaging will be used before or after processes such as pasteurisation.
Bespoke Fish Packaging
Products can be converted around the dimensions of the seafood and its tray rather than being restricted to standard formats.
Fish pads are commonly designed to remain completely beneath the product, helping provide the required performance without dominating the finished presentation.

Fish Packaging FAQs
Common questions about selecting food-contact packaging for fish and seafood processing, packing and retail applications.
What packaging can help manage liquid in a fish tray?
Absorbent fish pads are commonly used to manage moisture, purge and condensation within chilled seafood packs. The correct absorbency and dimensions will depend on the product, tray and expected fluid level.
Can fish pads be used following pasteurisation?
Selected applications may use a pad to manage condensation after pasteurisation. The complete process, temperature, packaging and product specification must be reviewed before a suitable option is recommended.
Are bespoke fish-pad sizes available?
Yes. Pads can be converted around the seafood product and tray, including formats designed to sit discreetly beneath fillets or shellfish.
Do you supply pads for polystyrene fish transport boxes?
Large, sealed-edge pads used beneath ice in transport boxes are a different product from the retail fish pads CoCopac converts. These may be sourced where required, although they are not manufactured directly by CoCopac.
Can fish pads be supplied in reels?
Yes. Fish pads can be supplied as individual cut pads or in reel format, subject to the dimensions, construction and packing process.
