Specialist Meat Packaging
CoCopac supplies bespoke food-contact packaging for meat processors, packers, butchers and packaging distributors. From absorbent pads and interleaving papers to display materials and puncture protection, products can be developed around the meat, pack format and production requirements.
We work with fresh, chilled, frozen and prepared meat applications, supplying made-to-order dimensions and specifications rather than limiting customers to a small range of standard formats.
Packaging selected around the application
Meat packaging may need to manage purge, prevent products sticking together, protect a vacuum pack from exposed bones or support presentation at the butcher counter. The right material will depend on the meat product, tray or pack, temperature, storage conditions and how it is handled during production.
Our team can work from an existing product specification or sample, or help identify an appropriate starting point where the required material is not yet known. Samples and trials can be arranged where the complete product and pack need to be assessed together.
Application-led expertise
We take time to understand what the packaging needs to achieve before recommending a product. This may include reviewing expected purge, fat and moisture levels, tray dimensions, freezing or cooking conditions, line handling and presentation requirements.
Bespoke meat packaging
Sizes, shapes, colours, absorbencies and supplied formats can be tailored to suit the application. Products can be supplied as individual sheets or pads, or in reel formats for suitable production processes.

Meat Packaging FAQs
Common questions about selecting food-contact packaging for meat processing, packing and retail applications.
What accreditations do you have?
CoCopac is certified to the BRCGS Packaging Materials standard and holds FSC® certification for eligible products and materials. We are also a Sedex member. Current certificates and relevant supporting information can be provided to procurement and technical teams.
Which products can help manage liquid within meat trays?
Absorbent meat pads are commonly used to manage purge within fresh and chilled meat packs. The correct absorbency, dimensions and construction will depend on the meat product, tray and expected fluid level.
What can help protect vacuum packs from exposed bones?
Boneguard is designed to reduce the risk of sharp or exposed bones puncturing vacuum or shrink packaging. Because performance depends on the complete pack, a trial is usually recommended for a new application.
Can you match a product we already use?
Yes. An existing sample or specification can help CoCopac assess the material, construction, dimensions and performance currently required. The team can then discuss a comparable product or whether another specification may be more suitable.
